Top High School Scholars Honored

Valedictorians, salutatorians and Governor’s Scholars were honored during 2013 Ottawa County graduation ceremonies. Three valedictorians and one salutatorian were announced at Minneapolis High School, Tescott has co-valedictorians, and Bennington has three vals and one sal.

Connor Nace was selected as a 2013 Governor’s Scholar and as a valedictorian at MHS. He plans to attend K-State where he will major in engineering. Connor is the son of Tim and Beth Nace.

Vyctorya Allison, daughter of Jim and Judy Allison, is a valedictorian at Minneapolis High School. She plans to major in pre-med while attending Kansas State University.

Macy Root, a valedictorian at Minneapolis High School, will major in biochemistry and math at Tabor College in Hillsboro. She is the daughter of Steve and Tammy Root.

Alyssa Smith is the MHS salutatorian. She plans to attend K-State where she will major in journalism. Alyssa is the daughter of Cheryl Plummer and Mike Smith.

Allison Rush and Samantha Rush are co-valedictorians for Tescott High School. They were also named 2013 Governor’s Scholars. Allison and Samantha, daughters of David and Beth Rush, plan to join the Air Force.

Madison Wolf, daughter of Tim and Dawn Wolf, is a valedictorian at Bennington High School. She was also named a 2013 Governor’s Scholar. Madison will major in chemistry and pre-med while attending Ft Hays State University.

Lindsay Curl, a valedictorian at Bennington High School, plans to major in kinesiology while attending K-State. She is the daughter of LeeAnn Fancher and Jay Varner.

Kaylee Long is a valedictorian at Bennington High School. She plans to study pre-dentistry while attending the University of Colorado. Kaylee is the daughter of Allie Gilbert.

Marissa Scheele is the salutatorian at Bennington High School. Marissa, the daughter of Jeff and Darci Scheele, plans to study criminology and pre-law while attending K-State.
