Kathy Coleman, secretary of the Miltonvale EMS, accepts the grant check from Dwayne Walls, representing the Ottawa County Community Foundation.

The Miltonvale EMS has been named a recipient of a 2013 Ottawa County Community Foundation grant in the amount of $940. The grant will be used to purchase CPR mannequins for training and CPR classes.

Miltonvale EMS has a certified American Heart Association CPR instructor and hosts classes at the Miltonvale EMS building. Before receiving the grant, the mannequins used in training were borrowed and transported back and forth for classes. The mannequins will be used for CPR classes, EMT training and lifeguard certification classes.

The Ottawa County Community Foundation offers this grant as a part of the foundation’s efforts to fulfill its primary mission – to improve the quality of life for Ottawa County. Miltonvale EMS serves and responds to approximately 60 households located south of Miltonvale in Sherman and Chapman townships in Ottawa County. The new equipment will be a great asset to the Miltonvale community and to its neighbors in Ottawa County.
