Delphos Presbyterian

October 9, 2013

Judy Pohlman, Beloit, was a guest of the Delphos PW on Oct. 2. Judy is the new organizer for Area 2 that includes Delphos. In the wake of recent natural disasters, the PW PNK has decided to prepare and ship hygiene kits to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. The Delphos church is asking anyone who wishes to donate a hygiene kit to bring it to the church by Oct. 20. These will be taken to the fall meeting on Cot. 22 and then shipped to Ferncliff, AR to be distributed to areas with the greatest need. Items needed to make the kit and a gallon ziplock bag are available at the church. A $2 shipping cost for each kit is needed. If you wish to make a monetary donation, checks are payable to PWPNK.
4-H Sunday was observed at the Delphos Church on Oct. 6. Delphos Club 4-H members present were Trish Kiser, Courtney Walker, Ian Snyder, and leaders, Vicki Walker and Karen Kiser. They shared projects they are working on and repeated the 4-H Pledge. Worldwide communion was observed and a peacemaking offering was taken. Julie Johnson, clerk of the session, presented her daughter-in-law, Meredith Johnson, for membership in the Delphos Presbyterian Church. Meredith is transferring membership from the Minneapolis Methodist church. Pastor Michele McHenry went to Clyde Sunday to participate in a walk with a friend to recognize those with Downs Syndrome.
Julie Johnson and Pastor McHenry will be attending Presbytery in Riley on Oct. 8.
Lesson 2 of the fall Bible study will continue on Oct. 16 at 1:30 and 6 p.m. at the church.
The Browns, a gospel group, will perform at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Minneapolis Presbyterian Church. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
