The senior citizens center was alive with activity Friday evening, June 20, when members gathered for their monthly potluck and card playing. One table chose to play dominoes. The group showed interest in using the Ottawa County bus in September for a trip. Let Deloris Pachta know what destinations you would enjoy visiting. It was also reported the senior citizens gave $200 towards the 4th of July celebration in the Delphos City Park. Rent free use of the building was extended to the Delphos Lions Club when they sponsored the Memorial Day dinner and the DHS alumni were able to use the bathroom facilities the night of their banquet. A letter was read which considered the changes to be made to the Delphos Post Office. Those present to enjoy the evening were Corliss and Roseanne Ballou, Janie Johnson, Loretta Griffith, Neva Marie and Roger Yager, Marjorie and Bob Klein, Deloris and Raymond Pachta, Tom and Darlene Meredith, Violet Gehrke and Ron, Jack and Sandy Larson, and Maria Gengler. Bob Cowhick was welcomed back after spending more than three months in the Leavenworth hospital.
