Sarah Whitman arrived at her mother’s house Saturday evening. They attended church at the United Church in Bennington. In the afternoon, Bill and Angela arrived to visit. Later in the evening, Sarah and Virginia ventured into the Ottawa County countryside to pinpoint names and places on the Ottawa County map that Sarah remembered as a girl. Perhaps the most entertaining part were the rock outcropping on Kiowa Road, where they saw initials etched in the rocks from many years ago. On that same section, they saw the buffalo monument on the Smith farm and the home of what used to be Virginia’s grandma and grandpa McCready. It was a fun evening.
